Paul Griffiths Appointed SAF Pathfinder Champion by Sustainable Markets Initiative
The Manufacturer reports that the Sustainable Markets Initiative (SMI), founded in 2020 by King Charles III when he was Prince of Wales, has appointed Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, as the new CEO Champion of its flagship Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Pathfinder initiative.
The SAF Pathfinder aims to mobilize investment and clear demand signals to unlock production capacity, enable critical infrastructure upgrades, and strengthen collaboration across the SAF value chain. Its objective is to overcome key barriers related to production scale and cost, accelerating the commercialization of SAF globally.
Griffiths said that sustainable aviation fuel is one of the most important tools for decarbonizing the aviation sector and pledged to accelerate its adoption across the industry. He also highlighted cooperation with the oneDXB Sustainability Alliance to advance decarbonization, innovation, and long-term resilience at Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC).
