RTI Signs Long-Term UCO Supply Deal with Phillips 66 to Support SAF Production in California

Restaurant Technologies Inc. (RTI) announced on November 2 that it has signed a long-term agreement with Phillips 66 to supply used cooking oil (UCO) collected from restaurants across the United States for renewable fuel production in California.

Under the agreement, RTI will provide high-quality, traceable and ISCC-certified UCO to Phillips 66’s Rodeo Renewable Energy Complex, supporting the production of renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

RTI operates a network covering more than 45,000 restaurants, hotels, casinos, universities and other food-service businesses across 41 U.S. markets. Its automated, closed-loop collection system helps prevent contamination from water, food waste and other impurities, improving feedstock quality and reducing pretreatment requirements.

At the Rodeo facility, UCO is cleaned, heated and processed with hydrogen through hydroprocessing technology to produce SAF hydrocarbons. The resulting fuel is blended and certified to meet ASTM standards.

SAF can reduce lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80% compared with conventional jet fuel.

Phillips 66 said the agreement strengthens its access to reliable domestic feedstocks and supports the expansion of renewable fuel production. The partnership also highlights the growing importance of restaurant waste collection networks in building a scalable U.S. SAF supply chain.
