Air France KLM Martinair Cargo Signs 13 SAF Agreements for 2026
Air France KLM Martinair Cargo has signed 13 Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) agreements for 2026 with freight forwarding partners and Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) during Air Cargo China. The agreements aim to expand the use of SAF in air cargo operations and support the aviation industry’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions.
The signing ceremony took place during the SkyTeam Cargo networking event, where the company and its partners also reviewed the progress of their sustainability initiatives. The agreements demonstrate the growing commitment of logistics companies and cargo partners to support lower-carbon air freight solutions.
SAF is widely regarded as one of the most effective tools for reducing greenhouse gas emissions from aviation, although its adoption continues to face challenges such as limited supply and higher production costs. Through its SAF programme, Air France KLM Martinair Cargo encourages customers and logistics partners to contribute to the increased use of sustainable aviation fuel.
The company thanked its freight forwarding partners and Hactl for their continued support and emphasized that collaboration across the supply chain is essential to accelerating the aviation sector’s transition toward more sustainable operations.
