Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore delays SAF levy due to war
March 27,In light of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and its impact on airlines and passengers, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) will postpone the implementation of the Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Levy.
The levy will now apply to tickets and services sold on or after October 1, 2026, for flights departing on or after January 1, 2027—rather than the previously announced schedule of November 2025, which called for the levy to apply to tickets and services sold on or after April 1, 2026, for flights departing on or after October 1, 2026.
The Sustainable Aviation Fuel Levy will apply to all point-to-point passenger and cargo flights departing from Singapore, as well as general aviation and business aviation flights.
