COFCO International Launches B100 Biodiesel Trial to Cut Soy Logistics Emissions in Brazil
On March 25, COFCO International announced a pilot project in Mato Grosso in partnership with Transpanorama and JF Andrade to use B100 biodiesel in soybean transportation. The initial phase will involve four trucks, consuming around 10,000 liters per month, with expected greenhouse gas emission reductions of up to 94% in logistics.
B100, produced entirely from biomass—primarily soybean oil—is widely recognized as a low-carbon, clean fuel. If successful, the company plans to expand the program across its broader operations in Brazil, amplifying emissions reductions while improving operational efficiency.
The initiative aligns with COFCO International’s climate strategy. Its emissions reduction targets were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in 2024, and the company continues to advance decarbonization through clean energy adoption, deforestation-free sourcing, and enhanced supply chain traceability.
