EcoCeres Launches Malaysia’s First SAF Plant, Marking Major Renewable Fuel Milestone
EcoCeres Inc. officially inaugurated its sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production facility on Jan. 26 in Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia, marking a landmark moment as the country’s first commercial SAF plant.
The facility had already successfully completed commissioning and start-up in October, clearing the way for full-scale operations.
In addition to SAF, the plant is designed to produce hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), commonly known as renewable diesel, as well as renewable naphtha. The combined maximum production capacity of these products reaches 420,000 metric tons per year, positioning the facility as a significant new player in Southeast Asia’s renewable fuels supply chain.
