Neste to Supply Sustainable Aviation Fuel to Cathay Group Across Europe, US and Asia-Pacific

On December 18, Neste announced that it has reached an agreement with Cathay Group to supply Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel™ (SAF) to the group’s airline operations across three major aviation regions: Europe, the United States, and Asia-Pacific.

The agreement supports Cathay’s efforts to scale up the use of sustainable aviation fuel as part of its broader decarbonization strategy. Leveraging Neste’s established SAF supply capabilities at key international hubs, Cathay flights departing from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport in Europe and Los Angeles International Airport in the United States have already been supplied with SAF blends.

In the Asia-Pacific region, Neste is also supplying SAF at Singapore Changi Airport for cargo flights operated by a Cathay Group subsidiary. The fuel is delivered through existing airport fuel infrastructure, where SAF is blended with conventional jet fuel before being supplied to aircraft, allowing for seamless adoption without any changes to aircraft or fueling systems.

By expanding SAF usage across multiple global hubs, the partnership highlights the growing role of cross-regional collaboration in accelerating aviation’s transition toward lower-carbon operations.
